The Niagara Predators Jr. “A” Hockey Club proudly celebrates a season defined by grit, leadership, and standout performances across the lineup. From elite offensive production to shutdown defensive play and clutch goaltending, this group delivered in every area of the game.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS
Nick Savoie & Shane Kaplan
This season’s MVP honors are shared by two dynamic leaders who drove the Predators' success in different but equally impactful ways.
Shane Kaplan (41 GP | 11G | 38A | 49 PTS) Kaplan was the engine of the offense, leading the team in points with an impressive 49. His vision, playmaking ability, and consistency made him one of the most dangerous forwards in the league. Beyond the scoresheet, his leadership and sportsmanship set the tone for the entire roster.
Nick Savoie (36 GP | 15G | 31A | 46 PTS) Savoie brought a lethal combination of scoring touch and hockey IQ, finishing just behind Kaplan in total points despite playing fewer games. His ability to create offense in key moments made him a constant threat and a cornerstone of the team’s attack.
JULENA MARIE EDWARDS AWARD (GRADUATING OA)
Alex Ness (38 GP | 17G | 25A | 42 PTS)
A leader on and off the ice, Ness capped off his Predators career with a dominant season. Finishing with 42 points, he consistently delivered in high-pressure situations while providing veteran leadership and stability throughout the lineup. His impact goes far beyond numbers—setting the standard for what it means to be a Predator.
MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
Sebastian Smith
Smith’s growth over the season was undeniable. His development in all zones—confidence, decision-making, and execution—made him a much more complete and reliable player. A testament to hard work and commitment.
MOST SPORTSMANLIKE PLAYER & CO-MVP
Shane Kaplan
Kaplan not only dominated offensively but did so with class and discipline. His respect for the game, opponents, and officials makes him a true role model and leader within the organization.
BEST DEFENSEMAN
Konstantin Parkhomchuk (28 GP | 6G | 23A | 29 PTS)
Parkhomchuk anchored the blue line with poise and production. Nearly a point-per-game defenseman, he controlled play from the back end while maintaining strong defensive responsibility. His ability to transition the puck and contribute offensively made him invaluable.
BEST DEFENSIVE FORWARD
Rhys Jones (40 GP | 5G | 7A | 12 PTS)
Jones was the backbone of the team’s defensive structure up front. Trusted in key situations, including penalty kill and matchup roles, he consistently shut down opposing threats while sacrificing offensively for the good of the team.
BEST TEAMMATE AWARD
Jacob Zimmerman (36 GP | 1G | 3A | 4 PTS)
Zimmerman embodies what it means to be a great teammate. Whether in the room or on the ice, his attitude, work ethic, and willingness to do the little things made a lasting impact on team culture.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Nicolas Guy (24 GP | 11W | 0T | 906 SA | 76 GA | .916 SV% | 3.52 GAA | 1 SO)
Guy made an immediate impact in his rookie campaign, showing composure well beyond his years. Facing heavy workloads with 906 shots against, he posted a strong .916 save percentage and kept the team competitive night after night. A cornerstone in net for the future. |
