Preds WIN 6-3
Our home opener was Rockin literally. The 2022-2023 NOTL Predators came out flying in their home opener to local band Bitter Pill whose lead singer was father of our own assistant captain Dawson Walker. The crowd was treated to music in between periods which seemed to energize the team as the game went on.
RECAP
The Predators went down early 1-0 but less than a minute later Rookie Nolan Wyers returned the game to even after a great unassisted effort. Both teams worked hard despite a parade to the penalty box which favored the predators who have been struggling to get the power play clicking. Second period saw the Preds take a 4-1 lead with 2 power play goals from Anthony Tropea and Reese Bisci. Newly signed Predator Wais Ayubi found the back of the net before the period ended. Third Period Northumberland scored 1 of their 2 power plays goals but Predators responded 21 seconds later from Bisci and then again by Riley Ellis.
The team gave the fans a small taste of what to expect from this fast young group. There is a lot of talent on this team and Coach Kevin as well as Coach Connor has done a great job getting the boys to come together in such a short time, but from what we saw on Friday this will be an exciting team to watch this year.
The Predators return to action again this Friday 730pm puck drop against The Aces of Windsor. We are asking all fans to bring a small donation for the Thanksgiving Food Drive.
